The dress:

After years of wanting to return to my roots as a fashion designer and create a world of dresses with love from the English countryside, my very first dress has now finally become a reality.

The dress is British made by a lovely seamstress in London, and designed by me in our little countryside cottage.

I wanted to make a dress that could easily be worn over wellies with a tweed jacket, as well as with heals and a bold necklaces for dinner with friends, or sandals in the summer, with a little picnic in a straw basket.

The Royal Stewart or Royal Stuart tartan is the best-known tartan retrospectively associated with the royal House of Stewart, and is also the personal tartan of Queen Elizabeth II.

Theoretically, this tartan shouldn't be worn without the express permission of the Queen, however, due to its popularity, the Scottish registry of tartans has opened it up anyone who doesn't have their own clan tartan to wear it.

Care:

It can be washed on very gentle cycle for delicates in the washing machine, or of course dry cleaned, but I simply quickly soak it in lukewarm soapy water, rinse, and roll it in a towel before hanging it to dry.

It doesn’t need to be ironed, but if you want a crisper look you may want to, but I just wash, dry and go.

Colors:

The dress is available in three different versions of the The Royal Stewart or Royal Stuart tartan.

Option one: Red/White

Option two: Green/Blue

Option Three: Red

One size:

The dress is made as a “one size fits all” at the moment covering the range of XS-L, but I hope to make it available in more sizes soon.
Please contact me should you wish it in a different size outside of the XS-L and we’ll see what we can do:)

The Fabric:

The Royal Stewart or Royal Stuart tartan in lightweight cotton poplin.

Measurements:

Dress measurements when laid flat and stretched out.
Length from top to bottom of the dress is 123cm
Width from shoulder to shoulder when stretched out is 80cm but the elastic band holds it together and makes this dress perfect for XS to L.
Armpit to armpit measurement is 55cm

Hip to hip measurement is: 78cm
Arm length is 49cm

Model: It’s me, Marte Marie, wearing the dress is all the photos, and my size is normally between XS-S and this “one size fits all” fits ever so neatly and comfortably.
